Shosana Zuboffs

Why is Shosana Zuboffs book (click here...) such a cornerstone in our time?

One of the things governments dealing with Coranavirus have taught us the last months is the easy step they think technology via apps can give a greater grip on their population. The dutch government manager De Jonge in charge of Coronavirus proclaimed in one of his talks "We want control". This wish to control everything might be fine for controllng Coronavirus but it is only one step further to make a marriage possible between the keepers of Big Data : Google and Facebook and national governments: a dangerous liaison.

The age of surveillance capitalism brings us close to the dangers of these mighty organizations ' Google and Facebook as control organizations or guards of national governments. This Block is called: Who owns the internet?, it could also have been called: Who controls our private decisions? The same topic is taken up by Yuval Harari who sees the technical control of our feelings as a next step people will have to cope with once direct legislation will not be available in the near future.

Don't miss this deep talk on individual freedom and individual randomness, it concerns all of us.
