Paul Rosolie is an American author, filmmaker, and explorer renowned for his daring expeditions and unwavering commitment to preserving the Amazon rainforest. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rosolie developed a fascination with nature early on, which led him to the Peruvian Amazon at the age of 18. There, he immersed himself in the jungleās depths, working alongside indigenous communities and confronting threats to biodiversity firsthand.
In 2014, Rosolie published his memoir, Mother of God: An Extraordinary Journey into the Uncharted Tributaries of the Western Amazon, which chronicles his adventures and conservation efforts. The book received acclaim for its vivid storytelling and passionate advocacy for environmental protection.
Beyond writing, Rosolie has been involved in various media projects to raise awareness about environmental issues. Notably, he hosted the Discovery Channelās 2014 special Eaten Alive, aiming to draw attention to Amazonian conservation, though the program garnered controversy over its portrayal of wildlife interactions.
Committed to on-the-ground conservation, Rosolie founded Junglekeepers, an organization dedicated to protecting threatened habitats in the western Amazon. Through this initiative, over 92,000 acres of primary forest have been safeguarded, involving local communities in sustainable preservation efforts.
